What the position owned

Not advice. Ownership.

Took control of the day to day finance function so the founding team could stay on product and growth.

02

Deployment of capital

Owned how the raise was spent, where every dollar went and how long the runway held.

03

Overall strategy

Sat with the leadership team on pricing, planning and the calls that shape a venture backed business.

The company

What Codi actually does.

Codi started in 2018, founded in San Francisco by Christelle Rohaut and Dave Schuman, offering fast-growing companies private offices without the long-term lease, a third way between co-working and a five-year commitment. Andreessen Horowitz led its $16 million Series A in 2022, with a16z’s Jeff Jordan joining the board; the company has raised $23 million to date.

In 2025 the company made its second act: an AI office manager. Employees message Codi in Slack, a pantry order, a leak, an IT issue, a badge request, and the platform resolves it through a vetted vendor network; the company says 94% of requests resolve automatically. Forty companies signed during the beta, including TaskRabbit and Northbeam, and the product launched officially in October 2025.

The market

Operations and people teams at growth-stage companies across New York, the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, teams that need an office to run itself without hiring an office manager. The incumbent alternative is legacy office-management firms and workplace platforms like Envoy; Codi’s bet is that an AI agent plus a vendor network beats both on cost and speed.

The business, on one page

The canvas.

Customers

Ops and people teams at venture-backed, fast-growing companies, beta names include TaskRabbit, Northbeam and PostHog.

Value proposition

An office that runs itself: message one Slack assistant and the cleaning, pantry, IT and maintenance simply happen, without an office manager on payroll.

Channels & partners

Direct sales into ops teams, delivered through a curated network of service vendors in each city.

Revenue

Companies pay Codi to operate their office services, a recurring service relationship, layered on its original flexible office-space business.

Key resources

The AI agent handling requests, the vendor network that executes them, and the office inventory and client base from its first act.

Cost structure

Vendor costs against service revenue, engineering for the AI platform, and the sales motion into new cities and accounts.

The position’s default plays
