What is an AI Operations operator?
An AI Operations operator is someone who moves into your business and makes AI work in your world, instead of handing you a roadmap and leaving. They build the agents, wire them into your systems, run them daily, and answer for the number they move.
The title matters less than the shape of the job. Some companies call it a forward deployed engineer, some an AI operations lead. The constant is that the person sits inside the company, close to the work, and stays accountable after the build.
Why the role exists
AI does not break on the model. It breaks on the floor, inside a real company: agents drift, outputs go unread at 2am, and a confident wrong answer becomes a real number gone bad. Most AI experts have never run a company, never closed a month end, never sat in front of a board. The role exists to put someone in the room who has.
What they actually build
- Finance: a close that lands in days, a cash forecast that updates itself, board packs from source data.
- Sales: every target account researched and drafted overnight, before a rep opens a laptop.
- Operations: the repeat work running itself, with exceptions surfaced to a human.
- People: onboarding, appraisals and reviews written and waiting for managers.
How it starts
One function at a time, behind a named owner, never company wide behind a memo. First: high volume, rule based, already measured processes. The first system goes live inside eight weeks, and you own everything built: code, agents, accounts, documentation. At Beyond Elevation this position starts from $4,800 per month, one or two days a week.
